Why travellers from the United States choose us
Built for the way you travel
American travellers tend to come to Kenya for the bucket-list moments: the Great Migration, Big 5 in the Mara, and an Out of Africa-style escape that still has air conditioning and good wi-fi. We build trips around your dates, not the other way around.
Most US guests have 10–14 days door-to-door. We usually pair 2–3 parks with a beach extension on Diani so the long-haul flight earns its keep.

Questions from travellers in the United States
- How long is the flight from the US to Kenya?
- Roughly 15–18 hours total. Kenya Airways flies direct JFK–Nairobi in about 14h35; via Europe or the Gulf adds a comfortable layover and often costs less.
- Do Americans need a visa for Kenya?
- Kenya replaced visas with an eTA in 2024. You apply online at etakenya.go.ke, pay $30, and approval typically lands within 2–3 days. Bring the PDF when you fly.
- When's the best time for an American family to visit?
- June through October lines up with US summer break and the Great Migration. December and the January–March calving season are also superb and noticeably quieter on the plains.
- Is Kenya safe for US travellers?
- The safari circuits, Nairobi business districts, and coast are routinely visited by tens of thousands of Americans each year. We brief you on the usual common-sense things and never put you somewhere we wouldn't send our own family.
- Do we need vaccinations?
- Yellow fever isn't required for direct US arrivals but is recommended; typhoid and hep A are standard. Anti-malarials for any park time. Your CDC travel clinic will sort you 4–6 weeks ahead.
